Holiday Music

Whilst on a long trip recently, I came across a song I hadn't heard in a long time, and it got me thinking how many of our members remember certain songs associated with holidays.
Here's mine to set you off.

Den and I had had a lovely day at the poolside of our luxurious hotel in Portugal. Our dinner had been lovely and the bar afterwards a very relaxed place. After a few cocktails the entertainment band played this.......

A perfect end to a perfect day!!!

So come on gang....romantic, amusing, annoying etc....let's be hearing those holiday songs and the stories behind them!! If you can't do the link bit pm Dark Angel - I'm sure she'll oblige!

Hmmm,

I don't 'do' holidays as such, but if I did, no doubt Il Divo, Bond, William Joseph and Andrea Bocelli songs would be in there somewhere.

Now don't act so surprised

Abba Waterloo 1974 in Majorca. The family had stopped at a cafe for an afternoon drink which was opposite a market which was closed apart from one stall selling records, The Stall holder played it OVER AND OVER AND OVER again to the point that my very placid Dad nearly lamped him one !!

Oh and that stupid Macarena song (you all know the moves!!) on a Nile cruise.

oeh! :D I like this idea!!

here we go:

I think this was summer 2007. I was sitting in the car and we were on our way to Austria. I can't think of an proper reason, other than me just being a big Softy, but I remember I had a few silent tears on this song. I had never heard it before but it's been following me around ever since that holiday:

this must have been around April or May 2008
I had round about a month off of school to study for my finals. And honestly, I did study, but when I'd wake up in the morning I'd go watch this tv-show with my mum. Neither of us was really into soap-series, but this one was cool. They stopped broadcasting it after a month, but I'll never ever forget that song, and it always reminds me of that spring of 2008:

"Never wonder where I am
'cause I am always by your side;
I'm your lady and you are my man,
whenever you reach for me, I'll do all that I can."

Well, the bad news is Elf, the first link only took me to the choices for country page    .

The good news is that 'Providence' can be found in it's entirity on Sky - can't remember which catch up, but it's there I promise!! Also, the reason there is a link to CSI on the same person, Melina Kankaredes is apparently in both (what a good actress she is!!). Being a CSI maniac I know that      .

Love the song though, like me, your a big softie     .
